Art on Display in Brighton

June 29th, 2012

BRIGHTON – MHPI, Inc. played host to a nearly 30 guests in late June at the Zanditon Community Apartments at an Open House.  The event showcased the works of art donated to MHPI through the Art Connection, a Boston non-profit organization, which connects artists and donors to community service organizations.  A committee of MHPI representatives and tenants chose the pieces, ranging in size from a 350-pound sculpture to a 5 by 7 oil painting which are now on display throughout the facility.

“The event was a true celebration of the overwhelmingly aesthetic and psychological effects artwork can have in a facility,” MHPI President Sheldon D. Bycoff said.  “I was pleased to welcome so many guests into our building and have them personally view all of the great pieces.”

Also in attendance were relatives of Mildred Zanditon for whom the building is named as well tenants, artists and Art Connection staff members who took tours of the facility and enjoyed ice cream donated by Toscanini’s in Cambridge.
