5K Road Race and Children’s Fun Run

Welcome to the online home of the Prouty Run, a road race to be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in beautiful Spencer, MA.  The race will begin and end at MHPI’s newest facility, Senior Living at Prouty, located in the heart of downtown Spencer at 195 Main Street.  Below, please find links of interest concerning the run.  In the event you have any questions, please call 617-431-4929 or 617-431-4930.

Proceeds from the race will go to benefit tenants at Senior Living at Prouty by providing a myriad of services and programs.

About Our Event:

The Prouty Run features two races: The Children’s Fun Run (one mile) and the Prouty 5K Road Race. All proceeds raise through this event will go directly towards benefiting the residents of Senior Living at Prouty, the newest facility of MHPI, Inc.

Senior Living at Prouty provides affordable housing and various supportive services for elderly residents throughout Spencer and surrounding areas.

With your help, MHPI hopes to establish new programs that will emphasize the importance of healthy living and taking care of yourself with age.

Awards/Prizes:

Certificates will be awarded to every participant of the Children’s Fun Run. The first place female and male runners will receive a $50 Savings Bond from Spencer Savings.

Prizes will be awarded to the first place overall male and female runners. Top three finishers of each age group will receive a medal. The age categories are as follows: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & older.

T-Shirts:

Complimentary t-shirts will be given to the first 125 entries

Entertainment and Raffle:

Music will be provided by DJ Rich from Sounds by Rich Entertainment along with other local entertainers! Also, enter our raffle and silent auction for a chance to win some cool prizes!

(Each pre-registration entry includes a free raffle ticket – tickets will be given out the morning of the race with your race number)

Directions:

From Worcester:

(estimated driving time: 25 min.) Start out going WEST on MAIN ST toward FRANKLIN ST. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto S MAIN ST/RT-9. Continue for about 5.3 miles. The Prouty Building, 195 Main Street, will be on your right.

From Boston:

(estimated driving time: 1 hr 17 min.) Start out on I-90 W/MASS PIKE. Continue driving to EXIT 10 (I-395) toward RT-12/I-290/AUBURN/WORCESTER. Take the RT-12 S exit toward US-20 W/CHARLTON/STURBRIDGE. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto RT-12 S/SOUTHBRIDGE ST. Continue to follow RT-12 S. RT-12 S becomes SOUTHBRIDGE RD/US-20. Turn RIGHT onto LEICESTER ST/RT-56. Continue to follow RT-56. Turn RIGHT onto RT-56/PLEASANT ST. Turn LEFT onto RT-9/S MAIN ST. The Prouty Building, 195 MAIN ST., will be on your right.
