Sheldon D. Bycoff, Founder and President of MHPI, Inc. (MHPI), has been the president since the organization’s founding in 1976. Sheldon has designed and secured challenging combinations of public and private financing for 12 separate housing projects in the Boston metropolitan area and Central Massachusetts. These projects provide long-term economic stability and high quality environments in a portfolio of over 240-units scattered over 15 sites currently owned and managed by MHPI. He is the founder and former President of Vinfen Corporation, which was formed in 1979 to provide a variety of human and behavioral health-related services, including clinical, rehabilitation, and residential programs. He came to Vinfen from the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, where he served as Assistant Superintendent (Administrative) from 1976 to 1979. From 1971 to 1976 he was Business Manager for South Shore Mental Health Association, Inc. Prior to this, Sheldon was President and Owner of Development Dynamics Associates, Inc., Senior Administrator at Raytheon Company. He began his career as an operations researcher at Prudential Insurance Company of America in 1964. Most recently, Bycoff served as part of the Long Term Financing Advisory Committee, covening at the request of Governor Patrick to study issues related to long term care and its current and future implications on seniors.
Edward Fox, CPM, Director of Facilities brings with him over thirty years experience in housing. He provides building management, supervision of security and maintenance staff for the entire MHPI portfolio, as well as coordinating tax/legal matters for all MHPI company-owned properties. Ed came to MHPI from the Vinfen Corporation, where he started as Property Manager before becoming Facilities Director from 1987–1998. From 1983 to 1987, he worked with N. E. Finance & Investment Strategy Management, Inc., as General Manager. From 1970 to 1983 he worked with HUD in their Community Development and Urban Renewal Office.
Newton Levee, Director of Real Estate Development, has been a practicing lawyer in Boston for over 40 years, focusing on the representation of extended care facilities and other medical providers. Since 1995, Newt has been of Counsel to the law firm of Murtha Cullina LLP (formerly Roche, Carens & DeGiacomo). From 1983 to 1995 he was a partner in Berlin, Clarey, Axten &Levee, having previously been a partner at Sherin & Lodgen, where he practiced from 1973 to 1983. Newt began his career in 1963 at McCormack, Elcock, Cohen & Matera.
Paul Lemieux, Director of Finance & Administration, of MHPI, Inc. (MHPI) since 2002, brings a diverse background of over 30 years of accounting and finance experience gathered through a variety of business environments. Having worked in both privately and publicly owned companies, Paul has developed and implemented systems (both manual and automated) that have enhanced operations, streamlined processes and improved bottom-line results. Paul came to MHPI from Energy Retailers, Inc where he served as Senior Accountant. From 2001 to 2002. From 1993 to 2001 he served as Controller for ABB Optical, Inc. Prior to this, Paul was the Director of Information Technology for Big & Tall Shoppes of America, and Controller for TJ Clark Advertising and Arnold Worldwide Advertising.
